What Tire is Best for a Kia Sportage?

Best Kia Sportage Tire

Continental Cross Contract LX 25

This performance all-season tire is the perfect companion to pretty much any compact crossover, including the Kia Sportage. The smaller vehicle's nimble feeling is amplified by these tires that offer immediate steering response and impressive cornering capability thanks to tread shoulders that are joined together to hold up against the pressures a higher-riding crossover can put on a tire.

Beyond that, they are both quiet and comfortable and offer a 70,000 mile tread life warranty, all at a more than reasonable price.

Yokohama YK740 GTX (Alternative)

Another performance all-season the Yokohama YK740 GTX is sure to keep your Kia Sportage engaging to drive while also providing a impressive wet weather grip and reasonably long life.

The highlight of this tire is it's ELS Orange Oil Compound that has been infused into the tread makeup to help it retain grip in the wet and results speak for themselves, with grip in the wet being fantastic.

An overall engaging ride is mixed with a reasonably long tire life that's guaranteed for 60,000 miles. That's a bit lower than some rivals, but these tires also cost less than many fo the top recommended tires, so the tradeoff here is worthwhile.

Best All-Season Tire for Kia Sportage

Goodyear Assurance Weather Ready

Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady Review

Technically speaking the Continental Cross Contract LX 25 wins our top pick award for the best Kia Sportage all-season tire, but we're making an exception for the Goodyear Assurance Weather Ready because it truly can handle all seasons – winter included. While most all-seasons aren't certified for winter use, this Goodyear is thanks to a custom tread compound that resists freezing.

As for the other seasons, it's built to handle them too, with tread blocks that lean on each other under cornering to give added stability to the tread. And in the wet, water evacuation channels are specially engineered to widen as the tire wears, allowing it to maintain the same level of wet weather grip as when the tire is new.

An impressive tire overall, the 60,000 mile warranty is a touch lower than some competitors and we'll warn you that the price is pretty steep. However, if you want one set of tires that can really grip all year round, these are your best bet.

Longest Lasting Tire for Kia Sportage

Goodyear Assurance Max Life

Goodyear Assurance MaxLife Review

If you don't love the tire shopping process and don't want to do it again an time soon, or maybe ever, this is the tire for you. The Goodyear Assurance Max Life offers a mileage warranty that's beyond any other tire on the market with a total of 85,000 miles.

Classified as a performance all-season, even with that long life it is still able to retain an engaging ride as well as decent all-weather capability. And pricing is reasonable too.

Best Budget Tire for Kia Sportage

Kumho Crugen HP71

Many Kias come from the factory with Kumho tires, and for good reason. Pretty much all Kumhos offer an impressive balance of handling, capability and refinement with a decent price. And that's all true with the Crugen HP71.

The 65,000 mile tread life warranty might not be at the top of the class, but it's close, and when you take into account price, the Crugen HP71 is a true bargain.

Best Budget Tire for Kia Sportage (alternative)

Falken Pro G5 CSV

There's nothing amazing about this tire. There. We said it. And yet… we think its a fantastic option for a lot of drivers. Why? Well, to put it simply, the overall value story. The Falken Pro G5 CSV is a middle-of-the-road tire. It offers above-average wet and dry performance. You won't find it sporty, but you won't find it un-sporty either. Similarly, it's both quiet and comfortable enough that you'll never think about it. Which isn't a bad thing. With a 60,000 mile tread life warranty it's certainly reasonably long-lasting. And for a price that's anywhere from 20-40% less than some of our top recommendations it's easy to see why it makes out list.

Cheapest Tire for Kia Sportage

Ohtsu FP0612 AS

Never heard of Ohtsu tire? Of course you haven't. You don't get to be the cheapest tire by having a big marketing budget. The FP0612 AS is actually a reasonably impressive tire when it comes to summer performance on dry roads. The extra-wide center rib makes for a planted highway ride at speed and impressive turn-in, while a softer rubber compound means it's sporty all the way through the corner. Wet grip isn't nearly as impressive though. Plus, that grippy rubber compound wears out relatively fast so you're left with a 40,000 mile tread life warranty. Then again, for all the money you saved on these tires, that warranty is decent.

Additional Kia Sportage Tire Options

Champiro Touring AS

Michelin CrossClimate2

Michelin Primacy Tour AS

Pirelli Scorpion Strada All Season

Falken Wildpeak AT Trail

Bridgestone DriveGuard
